The Hindu Forum of Britain is looking for volunteers from professional communities to help and assist us in various projects. If you have expertise in any are or willing to spend some time volunteering for our projects that deliver lasting benefits to the Hindu community, please contact us immediately. We are looking for volunteers who can join the following departments or projects of the Hindu Forum of Britain:
- Media and Public Relations Committee: volunteers with any of the following experience: dealing with the media, writing, editing, drafting press-releases or organising media events.
- Project Linkage: The Membership Relation Management (MRM) team are looking for volunteers that are based in Birmingham, Leicester and Manchester to link with a team of volunteers in London to manage the Hindu Forum Member organisation. This works requires people to work with the MRM team to establish and maintain contact local mandirs/organisations, expand membership, and promote the work of local mandirs via HFB media committee. The ideal candidate is some one who is currently associated with a Mandir/organisation and can speak Hindi.
- Web manager: volunteers who can create content for our website or upload content and maintain it to keep it up-to-date and relevant. We receive over 4500 hits a week.
- Fund raising:
we urgently need a volunteer administrator for our fund-raising team to administer our fund raising team comprised of Hindu business persons organising a Hindu Ball at prestigious location in April 2006
- Parliamentary Entrance Programme
: volunteers who can administer our flagship programme where 10 Hindus will shadow 10 MPs for six months. Political acumen will be desirable but not essential
- Security Project:
volunteers who can coordinate security and safety of Hindu temples throughout the country as part of our Project Shield
- Community Capacity Building:
our ComCap programme needs a professional committee of people who are delivering services to women, youth, elderly or have experience in public service, volunteer management, leadership training, or any other professional skill
- Project Teach:
we are creating educational resources to educate and inform Hindu youth about their culture and values and need young Hindus who are creative, innovative and can connect easily to other youth. Some travelling may be involved. Experience in multi-media, film production, designs and layouts, dramatics, painting and other arts will be helpful.
